This XL snag arm is longer than most others so if you are using your rods pointing up in the air "continental style" it stops you rods being "jumped" out of the snag arm, they also work really well if you are fishing very steep sloping banks with your rods pointing dpown wartds, it stops your rods being lifted out of your alarm on a take.
