Harrison Aviator Plus 2 13ft - Raven Edition

The Harrison Aviator Plus 2 can punch a bait a little further than the Harrison Torrix 3 1/4, but manages to do that without needing extra effort from the angler. This rod was designed to be easy to cast by normal anglers on the bankside.

A Few words from Terry Edmonds

After using the aviator plus for a few months now, I feel the optimum lead is 3.5 ounce but will also handle 4 ounce leads easily. Distances on 0.30mm mono and leader have been consistently 190 yards + with some further. But realistically fishing up to around 150 yards with Rig and Bait. For me the rod itself is a lot more user friendly than the trebuchet, or trebuchet lights as its a genuine all rounder. The Butt is a bit more powerful than a standard 3.25 torrix so enables good casting potential and the backbone to move fish out of weed when required. The lightness and slimness of the blank compared to a torrix, also adds to the speed of recovery, which when casting reduces snap offs, it also feels great in the hands. Taking the genuine 1k weave throughout the blank, means cosmetically it looks stunning. Where I have found this rod comes into its own is level line casting. By that I mean fishing at reasonable casting distances without a leader. As the tip and mid section blend so well into a powerful, but not over stiff butt. The rod can absorb the shock of a cast well, without being to harsh on the mono so reducing snap offs. Stiffer rods take the stretch out the mono to quick and cause crack offs. To prove this I have cast 0.32mm mono straight through and a 3.5 ounce lead over 165 yards regularly. To sum up its a very thin, light, balanced blank, that can be used for most situations in carp angling. Enjoy.Terry Edmonds
