Free Spirit CTX Power Feeder Distance
Any rod carrying the CTX name means Free Spirit have tried to apply as much of their experience and technology to the blank design and fittings as possible but keep prices to a minimum and the Free Spirit CTX Power Feeders are no exception.
Using 40t Japanese carbon with Bi-Axis carbon tape gives a light yet strong and responsive blank. The emphasis is on steady loading of the blank to build up power consistently and this produces the longest and most accurate casts with relative ease without ‘exploding’ pellet filled feeders or open ends. A shorter quiver tip section helps this since the joint diameter of the top section where it meets the quiver tip is much smaller meaning the elimination of flat spots and better power transfer through this area and down the blank which gives better fish playing without ‘lock-up’ – especially important with light lines and where elasticated feeders are not allowed.
Free Spirit fit the optimum number of anti-frap guides with 30mm butt guide and then dropping quickly in size to cone the lines down thus helping to eliminate crackoffs and aid distance casting. The handle is finished with ‘A’ Grade cork, stainless steel fittings and a Fuji VSS reel seat. Handle lengths are longer than the commercial feeder range to provide greater leverage for long casts but still manageable for playing fish close in.
Supplied with 3 carbon quiver tips with larger guides for use with shock leaders or heavier line or braid.
As with the Free Spirit Hi-‘S’ Power range the Free Spirit CTX Power Feeders feature ‘Special’ and ‘Distance’ models but feature the additional Multi version:
Designed for extreme ranges on reservoirs and lochs and big European rivers where additional power is needed - casting weight to 160g.
