The ‘S’ Range specialist and Barbel rods have been around for some time now and still remain very popular. Made from the 36t low resin Japanese carbon that has served so well for the actions needed for species like Tench, Bream, Chub and Barbel and fitted with full cork handles, stainless steel fittings, Clone reel seat with isotope slot and ‘S’-Lite guides.
The Big River Barbel was again developed with the help and advice from Steve Pope. Following the success of the Barbel Seekers he felt we needed an additional rod with more power in the butt to middle to cope with the flows when rivers like the Trent, Wye and Severn are in spate conditions, at around 2.25lb TC it will cope with pretty much anything you need it to.
The Seeker Specialist is 12’ and designed for specimen fishing for Bream, Tench, Chub and smaller Barbel. With a somewhat progressive action that makes it easier to fish weedy waters where harsher rods can lead to hook-pulls or line breakage.

Korda Boom is a game-changing fluorocarbon! It’s Korda's first fluorocarbon that can be crimped, which opens up a world of uses for rig tying. Its prime function is for creating stiff boom sections to help kick the hook bait away from the lead system, something Korda Boom does each and every cast. You can use it to make combi-rigs, or out-and-out stiff rigs, for pop-ups and bottom baits alike. Your imagination is the only limit to its rig applications.
Being a fluorocarbon, Korda Boom blends with all lake bed types and, thanks to its subtle, green tint, it’s always inconspicuous to carp feeding around it.
- Krimpable fluorocarbon hook link material
- Perfect for creating stiff boom sections
- It's stiffness kicks hook baits away from the lead for great presentation
- Subtle green tint makes it almost invisible
The new 20lb - 0.50mm version and as the name suggests, the main function of this hook link material is to create stiff booms, for rigs such as spinner, hinged stiff, and combi set ups. This fluorocarbon has a green tint to it, to help it blend in with the lakebed even more so than a clear one would do, but the biggest advantage is that it can be crimped – our three different sizes of Krimps are the perfect diameter to work with each of the four breaking strains of Boom.
For this 0.50mm version we recommend you use the 0.5mm XS Krimp.
It is very stiff, so will ensure that your rig kicks out away from your lead system every time and sits straight, plus you know that it won’t be tangled.
Four different breaking strains are now available, to cover everything from open water fishing in the UK right through to snaggy venues and huge carp in Europe – 15lb in 0.45mm diameter; 20lb in 0.50mm; 25lb in 0.55mm; and 35lb in 0.65mm - and come on 15m spools.
