Fortis Finseeker Glass Amber Switch Green XBlok
FSG004 – Amber AMPM Green XBlok SWITCH™
Following on from the success of our first glass lens (FSG003) into the Fortis range. We have now added a new variant (FSG004) that is specifically focused on depth perception. Utilising the same photochromic glass amber lens but by adding a green mirror, we have been able to heighten the perception of depth, allowing anglers to guage how far off the bottom the fish is. This is especially useful when targeting deep clear water and much requested by the bass fishing fraturnity.
Glass offers a multitude of advantages including clarity, scratch resistance and polarisation.
These Italian glass lenses incorporate our SWITCH™ technology. Our Switch or photochromic technology means that the lenses ‘switch’ in colour / shade when exposed to UV light. In bright light the lenses darken, in low light the lenses lighten. This allows the user perfect vision through the course of a session, whether that be at low light at dawn, stalking in the midday sun or looking for subtle signs of fish at dusk. What is VLT?
VLT stands for Visible Light Transmission and measures the amount of light that reaches your eyes through your lenses. This is measured as a percentage which indicates the darkness of a lens. The lower the VLT the darker the lens will be. VLT is affected by the colour and thickness of your lenses, the material they’re made of and the coatings they have on them. We have provided a rating on our models to help you choose more wisely.
Glass vs Polymer?
Choosing the right lens can be confusing, so to make life easier here are the pro’s and con’s of each material. Glass has many pro’s including; 100% polarisation, unrivalled optical clarity, richer tones & better scratch resistance. The benefits of Polymer include being lighter in weight making them more comfortable for long use. They are also more cost effective to manufacture making them a more affordable option without significant compromise to performance.
