S-Range Carp Rods

Prices start from £363.00

Arguably already classic rods this range originally started with the E.S. and X.S.

The blanks are slim and light with semi-progressive curves that suit anglers liking a rod with more feel for fish playing. The exception is the X.S.’ive. that was designed with distance in mind, although these are also more parabolic than the Hi-'S' range.

All the 'S' range are built on 36t Low Resin Carbon blanks with an attractive 3k weave and 'Perdurable' finish drastically reducing the softening process of the blank and also means the blanks are scratch resistant, again down to the incredibly low resin content, there is nothing to scratch, diamonds are derived from carbon and you will struggle to scratch those! The blank you touch is the “naked” carbon, there is no varnish/coating on the blank to get damaged, the net result being your rods wont age, the blanks will look the same in 10 years time as they do when you buy them.

Another feature of the S range is that due to the manufacturing process the blanks are “identical”, by this we mean that unlike other rods if you take say 10 ES rods and mix all the tips and butts up they will all fit back together perfectly, other makes don’t necessarily do that as each tip is made to fit each butt, so if you mix them up they wont go back in exactly the same position, this means no two blanks are exactly the same.

All rods are finished with S-Lite rings in either 40 or 50mm, a 3k clone reel seat with a Green Isotope and a choice of handle options.

S-Range Carp Rods

S-Range Carp Rods

One of the first rods produced by Free Spirit and still in the range, a beautiful through action rod, designed for small water and closer/mid range work (upto 90-100 yds max), a true parabolic action with a fair amount of power through the butt to stop big fish. This is still Lee Jacksons favourite blank.

A step up from the ES and suited to the rigours of modern day carp fishing, again a parabolic action meaning you are not going to be pulling hooks but the power builds up more quickly than the ES and if really lent into has a lot of stopping power, realistically you aren’t going to be casting 130yds with it but if ranges upto 110-120 are what you need then it will suffice.

This is the long range rod in the S Range, not as fast taper as say the Hi-S Ive ER but this rod will comfortably put a 3 ½ or 4oz lead 140 yds so will cope with what most people refer to long range. The forgiving tip means it’s a very easy rod to cast, pretty much anyone will get the best from this rod.
